October Car and Bike Show

The Fordland Memorial Library’s 2nd annual Car and Bike Show will be held Oct 8, 2022.

There is a $15 pre-registered entry before Oct 1. Forms can be picked up at the library or you can print the form from this link.

Door prizes will be given for every pre-registered entry. Awards and dash plaques will be awarded to selected participants. Registration at the entrance on that day will be $20 for those with a car or bike to enter the show.

A hotdog lunch for $5 and a burrito lunch for $8 will be sold. Half price library lunches will be provided for those who pre-register. Other food vendors will be available.

There is NO entry fee for anyone who would like to come and check out the cars and bikes. The community is invited to attend and support this fundraising event. There will be silent auction items. You do not need to be in attendance to win.

There will be live music, games and more to be announced. Great fun for everyone! Have an entry or just come by to enjoy the festivities and look at some great cars and bikes. There is no charge to just come and see.

Local Authors Meet and Greet

August 20, 2022 is a special reading day for anyone who would like to attend. Local authors will be meeting patrons at the library starting about 10:30 am. Three authors will be reading their book(s) and making them available for purchase. Come meet the authors and purchase an autographed copy! Authors will be available until 12:30 or 1:00, depending on the attendance.

The storytime will begin around 11 am with a hotdog lunch provided for those present after the readings. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

The authors that will be available include:

Tiffany (Coryell) Tutu         presenting “What Did Your Dinosaur Do Today?” Her books will sell for $16.00 for hardback and $11.00 for softcovers.

Darleen Anderson              presenting “Flip Flop and Don’t Stop”. Her books will sell for $12.00.

Michelle Underwood         presenting   “A Lion’s Roar in a Can” and “Claire, the Awesome, Amazing Adventurer goes on Safari”. Her books will sell for $15 each.

Two local vendors will be outside on the parking lot. Shalee’s Shaved Ice will be selling S, M, L snow cones for $3, $4, and $5 respectively. Be Unique will be doing face painting for $5. When a book is purchased from one of the authors, the library will pay $1 to reduce the price of the face painting.

The craft for this event is rock painting. The library will cover the cost of the supplies. Come out and be a part of this fun Saturday!
